Pictures!

I finally figured out how to upload, so here are some hightlights! From top left-bottom right: Bouda stupa, Safel orphanage, with my favorite girl at Safel, with monks from both classes at the monastery, Kathmandu during Tihar at night, Deepak's dung house, about to climb down the mountain to Deepak's house, street that I walk down every day in Thamel near the guesthouse, my little monk class, and just walking around in Thamel.

Great pictures! What a great way for us all to see a visual snapshot of your experiences (I also look forward to all of your blog entries, even those about lice and dung!!)! The little kids in the monastery and orphanage are so cute, and I loved the photos of Thamel too.

Thanks so much, Soph! Every one keeps asking me how old the monks are, so this helps. Nice set of snaps.

Hi Soph!
I found your blog because Andrea follows it. You're having such exciting adventures! Nepal is definately on the top of my list of places to go, so I'm super jealous. That one day when you went to the village sounds so amazing. It seems like your whole expreience is really authentic, and you're experiencing what daily life is really like for everyday people in Nepal. Its fun reading about your travels; you can read about mine at conorandchristena.blogspot.com

What an adventure! Your bus story took me back to Mexico in the 1970s, where people on the tercer classe autobuses also rode on the roof with the animals (altho I drove behind many of them, I never rode in one). Your photos of Nepal, especially with the monks and that little girl, are wonderful. Keep up the blogging and send more pix!
